At long last we have posted photographs of Heritage, a piece Lauren completed a few months ago
and which was shown at High Wire Arts back in the spring.
We've also added approximate sizes of the sculptures on each gallery page, length by width by height in inches, including base.
And stay tuned, because another new piece should be ready shortly!

Lauren's onyx sculpture, Near Shore,
will be shown for the first time starting
tomorrow at the San Antonio Art League's Annual San Antonio Artists Exhibition.
The juror of the show is Edward M. Schad, Curator, Broad Art Foundation Santa Monica, CA.
The opening reception is Sunday, April 11 (tomorrow!) from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, and the show runs until May 22.
Come see Lauren's piece and all the other selected works as well!

Lauren's sculptures have been invited to continue at
High Wire Arts through the month of April.
The opening was last night, but drop by to take a look at her pieces and the work of the other artists.

As part of the Tobin Hill 2nd Friday Art Walk in San Antonio,
come by High Wire Arts between 6pm and 10pm tonight
to see five of Lauren's sculptures,
as well as art by Bob Maxham, Marty Ruona, Renee Mijangos, Alberto Mijangos, and Laura Mijangos Kirk.
Lauren's pieces at the High Wire show are
Rising Tide,
Sunrise,
Urban Butterfly,
Standing Wave,
as well as another piece so new that we don't have pictures up on this site yet.
Next Wednesday, March 17, at 7:00pm, there will be another event at High Wire that will include a
symphony performance, so please drop by then as well. And the show continues all March, Contemporary Art Month,
until April 2.

Another new sculpture is available: Near Shore.
The rock is onyx and it rests on a metal cylindrical base. Enjoy the pictures!
Meanwhile, Lauren has another show coming up soon where you'll be able to see this piece and more.

Lauren's newest work is called Sunrise.
It's another alabaster sculpture, about a foot across.
She finished it a few weeks ago, and--at last--we have pictures in the gallery.

This coming weekend at Brenda Ladd Photography
in south Austin as part of the Travis Heights Art Trail.
The Carver Cultural Center in San Antonio through January 15,
with an opening reception on December 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
La Casa Rosa Art Studio as part of San Antonio's Tobin Hill neighborhood's
Art on the Hill event on December 11.

The next month is a busy one for art!
Lauren's sculptures will be featured in several upcoming events in San Antonio and Austin.
For the entire month of December, Rising Tide will be on display at the
Carver Cultural Center, as part of an exhibit on the art
of Gevers Street Studio.
The Carver is at 226 N. Hackberry, just east of downtown San Antonio.
On Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, several of Lauren's sculptures,
including Urban Butterfly and another brand new piece,
will be at Brenda Ladd Phtography
as part of the Travis Heights Art Trail in south Austin.
Finally, select pieces will be on display at La Casa Rosa Art Studio, 527 E Dewey, as part of the
Art of the Hill event in San Antonio's historic
Tobin Hill neighborhood. The opening is Friday, December 11, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and the art
will remain on display through the end of December.

A new sculpture, Urban Butterfly, is complete and the pictures are here!
The rock is a translucent alabaster and the base is a solid quartzite. Including the base, it is about 10"
across and 9" high, making it one of Lauren's smaller sculptures. We hope you like it.

Mermaid will be on display at the
Inspire Fine Art Center starting Friday, September 11,
as part of their Emerging Artists Juried Art Show.
If you drop by, you can cast a vote in the People's Choice Award competition.
Inspire is located at 1539 E. Sandalwood St. in San Antonio, not far from the Quarry Mall.
The show at Inspire lasts through September 24, followed by an awards reception on Saturday, September 26
at Valero headquarters, from 6:30 to 10:00 pm.

The serpentinite sculpture now has a name: Rising Tide.

Lauren's serpentinite sculpture is complete! See the gallery for the pictures.
It is untitled at the moment, but not for long.

Lauren is currently working on the last stages of a sculpture made from a beautiful green
serpentinite rock. We will have pictures of it as soon as it is completed.

Tonight is Public Justice's annual gala in San Francisco, CA.
Lauren has donated her sculpture August to the auction.

Lauren led a series of art workshops for sixty refugee children who escaped war
and persecution in Iraq, Iran, Congo, Burma, Bhutan, Burundi, and arranged
for their artwork to be sold at silent auction at the Catholic Charities Annual Gala
for their Refugee Resettlement Program.
Friday, July 24th was the last day. Eight other artists and several Catholic Charities volunteers helped
Lauren with the workshops.
The children's art is beautiful and everyone had a great time.

Lauren's sculpture Revolutionary Spiral will be on display at
HCG Gallery in Dallas as part of
the Texas Sculpture Association's statewide juried art exhibition.
The opening reception is Thursday, June 25 from 6:00 pm to 9:00pm.
The exhibit continues through July 18.

in the Sunday, June 14 San Antonio Express-News. The article
graced the front page of the SA Life section and included numerous
